Our Omnichannel and Clienteling in-store digital solutions have resulted in us being named the winner of the RTIH Innovation award for UK Technology Vendor of the Year, sponsored by PMC.
This year’s Retail Technology Innovation Hub Awards were aimed at profiling companies who have developed innovative solutions to transform the customer experience and back-end operations in the retail world. With house-hold names such as Amazon and MishiPay taking home some of the other awards, we are delighted to be recognised as an influential player in the retail tech scene and are grateful that RTIH have highlighted the significance of in-store technology in a post-COVID future.
Although 2020 has undeniably been a difficult year for the retail industry, it has also acted as a digital wake up call. With this in mind, here at Mercaux we have spent the last few months developing brand new solutions, including new COVID-secure service models, to support retail’s recovery and to safely encourage customers back to the highstreets.
We are pleased and humbled that the judges of this year’s RTIH Innovation Awards recognised the significance of these efforts, and of digital transformation more broadly, in facilitating retail’s recovery.
Companies were judges and shortlisted by a panel of retail and business experts including senior executives at Ocado, Marks and Spencer, and Ideal Shopping Direct. In particular, we were pleased to hear what what one of the judges, Sharon Peters, had to say about Mercaux’s brand new Queue Scenario technology that Holland & Barrett have deployed:
"I love the fact they are adapting to the challenges retailers are/were facing and as a customer I have felt … Their simple idea of engagement in queue I think is brilliant. It does seem like they really created a new service model to meet customer needs.”
Sharon Peters, Head of Technology - Marks and Spencer, HR, Finance, Corporate Services and M&S Bank
Alongside our core Sales Assist & Omnichannel solutions, Holland & Barrett have deployed our brand new COVID-secure Queue Scenario, which was developed in response to post-lockdown social distancing measures. Mercaux’s Queue Scenario allows customers to engage with staff from the queue outside the shop: customers can use the Mercaux App to create a basket which is then transferred to colleagues inside the store to fulfil. The customer only needs to enter the store to pay and collect the pre-packed bag, therefore satisfying customers who are anxious about in-person interaction and allowing H&B to serve more customers.
